FORMASI Universitas Brawijaya joined another international level competition held by Bina Nusantara University in Jakarta at February 18th – 22nd , 2014. It was Asian English Olympic 2014. This competition consist of six battle fields: Debate Competition, Story Telling, News Reading, Speech, Short Movie Making and Scrabble. Last year, Brawijaya University only send 2 delegates of story telling in AEO. At that moment, their journey were stopped at big 16 (octofinal round). This year, University of Brawijaya sends 13 people to compete in 4 different fields (Debate, Speech, Story Telling, News casting) inside the tournament with almost 600 other participants from all over Asia. The competition was always tight here in AEO, top class university from each country always sends their best team to gain the champion title. Several university in Asia that joined AEO this year are International Islamic University of Malaysia (Malaysia), Universiti of Petronas (Malaysia), Curtin University (Australia), National University of Singapore (Singapore), HongKong University of Science and Technology (HongKong) and many others.

The result is quite satisfactory, both UB A ,which consist of Nadya Ayuning (Industrial Engineering/FT) and M. Afdhal Anugrah (English Literature/FIB), and UB B, which consist of Zelly Sidi Zamzami (Management/FEB) and M. Fahri Akbar (Economy Development/FEB), reached the Quarterfinal round of Debate Competition in AEO. While in Speech and News Casting Competition, both of the delegates were stopped in Octofinal round. They are M. Fajar Shiddiq Adjam (International Relations/FISIP) who compete in Speech Competition and Heppy C.W Silaen (International Relations/FISIP) in Newscast field. Story Telling, makes a new history by breaking through the quarterfinal in AEO 2014. It was Balgis Kader (Communication Science/FISIP) that make it happened. While her colleague, Wara Alfa Syukrilla (Statistic/FMIPA) is still defending her previous Octofinalist title in AEO 2013.
