FORCE (Formasi Internal Competition) 2016

 

is an annual english competition, which is part of our Grand Open Recruitment program that aims to create a sense competitiveness among the new members of FORMASI/FORIENT 30. We aim to digging out our members’ potentials, to discover talent within individuals, to encouraging each of you to face the fear and to fight against the obstacles in life.

This year’s theme is MAGIC, in hope that each of you could give out your best and extraordinary performance. in this case, performance in competing against each other.

Dresscode: a touch of purple/black (not obligatory but recommended to add more fun)

RULES AND REGULATIONS (Speech)

The Force Speech Competition will be held in 3 rounds

1. Preliminary Round
2. Semifinal Round
3. Final Round

Preliminary Round

• This is the first round of the Force Speech Competition. This round is going to be a Prepared Speech round.
• The topic of the prepared speech is “The Dangers of a Stressful Lifestyle”
• You have a maximum of 5 minutes to perform in front of the judges.

Semifinal Round

• Those who passed the Preliminary Round will compete in Semifinal Round, in this round you will be doing an impromptu speech.
• The title of the speech will be given when the Semifinal Round starts
• You will be given 45 minutes to make your speech
• You have a maximum of 5 minutes to perform in front of the judges.

Final Round

• Those who pass the Semifinal Round will compete in the Final Round of the Force Speech Competition.
• The final will be a humorous impromptu speech
• The title will be given when the Final Round starts
• You will be given 30 minutes to prepare your speech
• You will have a maximum of 5 minutes to perform.

What’s Important ?

3M: (Manner, Method, Matter)

1. Manner : This is the structure of your speech, does it have an opening, a closing statement to be a speech with a good structural
2. Matter   : This is the content of your speech, is it informative, interesting, and can persuade those who hear it.
3. Method  : This is the way you perform your speech in front of others, this includes your body language, voice and intonations etc.

FAQ

1. Do we have to make our own speech?
   • Yes you should.

2. Can we browse during the preparation time of the impromptu speech?
   • Yes you can definitely use the internet

3. Can I come late? Will there be a disqualification if I come late?
   • No, you will be disqualified if you haven’t confirmed before.

4. Can we bring our paper when performing?
   • Yes you can, but it will be better to not bring anything J

5. What should I wear?
   • Just wear a polite outfit and shoes.

6. Should we bring our own paper for the impromptu rounds?
   • No, we will provide that for you.

7. Who will watch me perform?
   • The judges of course, and the participants that already done their turn.

8. The Final is going to be a humorous speech. What is it exactly?
   • This is a speech to entertain your audience, you should come up with something funny,      but still don’t forget the content has to be informative also.

Ketentuan Umum

1. Lomba newscasting terdiri dari dua babak yaitu babak penyisihan (preliminary round) dan babak final.
2. Peserta diwajibkan datang 1 jam sebelum perlombaan dimulai dan melakukan registrasi ulang, toleransi keterlambatan hanya diberikan jika panitia mengizinkan dan disertai alasan yang jelas dari peserta.
3. Sistem perlombaan menggunakan sistem gugur.
4. Setiap peserta harus menghormati keputusan dewan juri.
5. Peserta wajib mengetahui dan mematuhi segala bentuk peraturan.
6. Setiap peserta mengisi formulir pendaftaran.

Ketentuan Khusus

1. Setiap peserta diwajibkan melakukan Technical Meeting.
2. Bagi peserta yang mengkonfirmasi ketidakhadiran pada saat Technical Meeting, maka  pengambilan nomor urut akan diwakilkan oleh panitia.
3. Waktu maksimal peserta tampil adalah 8 menit. Akan dikenakan pengurangan poin penilaian bila melebihi batas waktu, serta tidak ada pengulangan atau pemberhentian waktu saat tampil.
4. Naskah peserta akan diberikan oleh panitia dan peserta boleh memodifikasi naskah asli yang diberikan panitia. Setiap peserta diwajibkan memiliki kalimat pembuka dan penutup.
5. Peserta diwajibkan untuk menggandakan naskah asli sebanyak 4 buah (1 untuk peserta dan 3 untuk juri) dari masing-masing berita (ada 3 berita) yang telah diberikan saat Technical Meeting.

 

MATERIALS OF THE COMPETITION

Preliminary Round

News reading dan Weather Forecast

1. Peserta akan diberikan 3 naskah berita dengan topic berbeda saat Technical Meeting dan peserta akan melakukan cabut undi tema berita sebelum penampilan.
2. Peserta akan diberikan 3 peta weather forecast saat Techincal Meeting dan peserta akan secara impromptu mempresentasikan peta sesuai yang muncul di layar LCD.
3. Dari babak penyisihan akan ini akan dipilih 5 orang terbaik untuk melaju ke babak final.

Timing

1. Pembacaan berita dan weather forecast dilakukan maks. 8 menit oleh setiap peserta,  jika waktu sudah habis peserta wajib menghentikan pembacaan berita.
2. Time keeper akan memberikan tanda peringatan kepada peserta dengan jelas:

• Tanda hijau diberikan kepada menit ke 5.
• Tanda kuning diberikan ke 7.
• Tanda merah diberikan ke 8 sekaligus pertanda akhir dari penampilan.

Ketentuan Pakaian

1. Peserta harus berpakaian formal, dengan memakai blazer (bagi perempuan) / jas (bagi laki-laki) dan tidak diperbolehkan menggunakan celana jeans.
2. Peserta diwajibkan bersepatu pantofel.
3. Peserta diwajibkan untuk menjaga penampilan selama perlombaan berlangsung.
4. Penggunaan make up sederhana diperbolehkan oleh panitia.

Final Round

1. Peserta akan melakukan cabut undi nomor urut dan tema live report.
2. Peserta akan diberikan waktu persiapan 30 menit sebelum penampilan dan boleh mengakses internet.
3. Panitia menyediakan kertas untuk peserta dan akan dikumpulkan setelah waktu persiapan berakhir.
4. Peserta diperbolehkan membawa catatan saat penampilan.
5. Timing :
   • Pembacaan berita dan weather forecast dilakukan min. 5 dan maks. 8 menit oleh setiap peserta.
   • Time keeper akan memberikan tanda peringatan kepada peserta dengan jelas:

• Tanda hijau diberikan kepada menit ke 5.

RULES AND REGULATIONS (Debate)

General

1. Prepared or impromptu motion will appear in any round randomly.
2. All participants recommended to use purple or black.
3. All participants are obliged to attend the on 26^ThNovember 2016 at 7 a.m.
4. Each team comprise of three members.

Format of the Tournament

1. The Tournament will adopt Asian Parliamentary System which is a 3 on 3 debate, using following regulations:
2. Substantive Speech : 7 minutes ( 1 knock at 1st minute and 6th minute, twice at 7th, and continuously at 7.20)
3. Reply Speech : 4 minutes (1 knock at 1st minute and 3rd minute, twice knock at 4^thminute, and continuously at 4.20)
4. POI ( Point of Information ) will be given between 1st until 6th minute of the substantive speech for 15 seconds long.

The competition will be conducted in two phase :

1. Preliminary Rounds 2x
   • Prelim 1 : random
   • Prelim 2 : power match
2. Eliminary Rounds
   • Semi final 4 tim (system bracket)
   • Grand final 2 tim

3. In the preliminary rounds there will be two rounds of debate which will be held  using random system by lottery and power match system where team from the  highest ranks competes against each other. Then the eliminary rounds on semifinal round will be held using bracket system.

• Only 4 teams with the highest victory point, score, and margin will proceed  to the eliminary round and it will be announce at Breaking Announcement.
• Example: Team 1 at the end of the preliminary will meet team 4, team 2 will meet team 3.

SCORING

• Matter 40%
• Manner 40%
• Method 20%

MOTIONS (PREPARED)

Economy :

• THBT tax amnesty brings more harm than good to Indonesia

Social problem :

• As minority in Indonesia (LGBT, shia, etc), THW create political party which can accommodate our needs instead of rally demo
