The 16th edition of the Indonesian Varsities English Debate (IVED), the country’s most prestigious debating tournament, started January, 11th at Institut Teknologi Bandung. More than 200 varsity debaters from 36 tertiary institutions gathered in the hillside city and witnessed a test debate on taxing religious organizations that commenced the event
Formasi sent two teams in IVED 2013, UB A (Queentries Regar, Zelly Sidi Zamzami and M. Nur Rizky Oceano Puritanical) and UB B (Nadya Ayuning, Leiditya Naristi and Dwi Arum Ariani). After three rounds on the 1st day, UB A still become undefeated team and UB B stay with 1 VP. On 2nd day, after sixth rounds UB B got 3 VP and UB A lose from Universitas Indonesia A, made them stay with 5 VP, but it could make UB A broke into Octo-final round in 5th Position.
It was remarkable journey in IVED 2013 for UB, because UB A should meet triple BIPEDS, UB A succeed beat BIPEDS C in octo-final round and BIPEDS B on quarterfinal round,
After waiting for 12 years, finally, UB A could reach semi-final. In Semi-final, UB A should work harder, because they met BIPEDS A, unfortunately, UB should stop their war in IVED 2013 because beaten by BIPEDS A.
